I'm Clayton Davis — licensed massage therapist since 2008 and the person behind Spa City Stretch. My path into this work started the way a lot of my clients' stories do: with an injury and a body that wasn't cooperating.
In my early twenties, I was working as a welder in a fabrication shop when I hurt my back. What finally got me feeling like myself again wasn't rest — it was massage therapy, on a recommendation from my mom. It worked well enough that she kept encouraging me to look at it as more than relief. She's the reason I went to school for it.
I enrolled at Exceptional Massage Institute right here in Hot Springs in 2007 and finished in 2008. From there I spent the next twelve years at Spa Botanica, sharpening my hands and — more importantly — learning to really see what was going on with people's bodies.
Over those years, I kept noticing the same thing. Most of the problems walking through my door came down to one of two causes: people either weren't moving enough, or they were moving the wrong way, too much.
That realization is the reason Spa City Stretch exists. I still do deep, therapeutic massage — but I paired it with assisted stretch because helping you move well is where the lasting results are, not just an hour of feeling loose. Every session is tailored to what your body actually needs that day, one flat rate, always one-on-one with me.
Bodywork is a craft you never really finish. I've kept adding to mine the whole way.

Everything I ask of my clients, I ask of my own body. I'm a runner — several half marathons, plus more 5Ks and 10Ks than I can count — and when I'm not training you'll usually find me backpacking or hiking. Staying active like that means I know firsthand what it takes to keep a body moving, and to recover when it pushes back. None of it would be possible without my wife and daughters, who I'm endlessly grateful for.
Several half marathons and countless 5Ks and 10Ks — I train the way my clients do.
Backpacking and hiking keep me moving well beyond the studio.
Grateful every day for the support of my wife and daughters.
